On May 8, Weihai Puyi  Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. was officially informed that its EGCS was approved by ABS on May 2, 2017. This is the 4^th approval from a major classification society since CCS, LR and BV, which reveals higher level of recognition from international authorities.

Weihai Puyi  Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. is a high-tech enterprise integrating R&D, design and manufacturing of marine environmental products. Puyi started cooperation with Dalian Maritime University on R&D of the marine exhaust gas cleaning project of magnesium method in 2012. So far it has developed a complete system of intelligent property, and will further expand its international patent system.

The magnesium-based system has been successfully installed on COSCO container vessels “Binghe” and “Lingyunhe”. It is proved onboard that when sulfur content of fuel oil used by vessels is 3.5%m/m, treatment effect of the system is up to 97%, capable of complying with IMO regulations continuously.

Compared with equivalents on the market, Puyi scrubber is more compact, light-weighted, with lower power consumption and higher automation level. It is suitable for both retrofitting and new-built projects, thus a favorable compliant option for shipowners.
