       Technological Innovation: Mass Production of Solid-State Batteries, Safety and Performance Both Breakthrough

       In 2020, Puyi and the professor team from Harbin Institute of Technology jointly launched a solid-state battery research and development project. After several years of effort, the R&D team achieved breakthroughs in key areas such as electrolyte material synthesis and interface stability optimization. The team has successfully established an independent and controllable solid-state battery material system, and completed the full-chain refinement from laboratory scale, pilot scale to mass production process design. The solid-state battery products have successfully passed the type tests of the authoritative GB38031-2025 'Electric vehicles traction battery safety requirement' and GB 43854-2024 'Safety technical specification of lithium-ion battery for electric bicycle' in terms of safety and operational performance.

       The company holds over 20 invention patents, forms a diversified solid-state battery product range 30Ah-314Ah specifications, including energy storage batteries, power batteries and marine batteries. In February 2025, the company's first 0.5GWh solid-state battery production line completed the full process integration, and the first batch of products was successfully produced from the line, which marks company’s solid-state batteries official entry into the mass production stage.

       At the Solid-State Battery Sub-Forum of the 2025 New Industry Standardization Leadervessel Forum organized by the China Electronics Standardization Institute, the first batch of units participating in solid-state battery testing was announced and Weihai Jinhong Technology Co., Ltd. was successfully selected. Its 'lithium iron phosphate solid-state battery' has fully passed the test, marking authoritative recognition of Jinhong Technology's achievements in solid-state battery safety technology and product compliance.

        In the battery production workshop of Weihai Jinhong Technology Co., Ltd., by adjusting the ratio of raw materials and using highly advanced production equipment and an automated process, batteries of different specifications and models, including pouch and prismatic solid-state batteries, are produced. With strict quality control, the product yield reaches 98%.

       In the battery production workshop of Jinhong Technology, engineer Ren Jianhai explained to reporters the testing projects carried out this time: overcharge test – under 1.5 times the charging voltage limit, the battery did not catch fire or explode; over-discharge test – even under extreme deep discharge conditions, the battery remained stable; external short-circuit test – the battery stayed safe during sudden short circuits; thermal abuse test – the battery was placed in a high-temperature environment of 130°C, yet its structure remained intact and there was no thermal runaway; nail penetration test – with a steel needle piercing the centre of the battery, it still remained safe… A series of rigorous tests have scientifically, rigorously, and authoritatively proven the safety of Jinhong solid-state batteries.

       Since the solid-state batteries are the key breakthrough for electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and consumer electronics, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology along with seven other departments have listed them as a future industry for key development. Jinhong's solid-state batteries offer advantages such as long cycle life, high energy density, wide temperature application range, and absolute safety assurance. They can significantly enhance the vehicle's range for the same volume, effectively reduce the total lifecycle cost for users, and are widely applicable in commercial vehicles, passenger cars, low-speed power vehicles, and energy storage. Taking electric motorcycles as an example, Jinhong’s solid-state battery weighs only 25% of the same amount of power lead-acid battery, which means Jinhong’s product can not only reduce the overall weight of the vehicle but also increase the vehicle's range capability by about 25% due to the less weight advantage. Currently, Jinhong Technology is liaising with multiple new energy vehicle enterprises, energy storage companies, and two-wheeled electric vehicle manufacturers, accelerating the commercialization of its products.
